Open Call for participants in ESC Team Volunteering Project "Caretta Caretta 2025" in Turkey 

CYA Krik is opening a call for participation in an exciting team volunteering project Caretta Caretta 2025, hosted by LIDOSK (Lycia Scouting and Nature Lovers Culture Association) in Demre, Antalya, Türkiye.

This volunteering project is financed by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program.

About the Project

The Caretta Caretta 2025 ESC Team Volunteering Project focuses on the protection and monitoring of the endangered sea turtles Caretta Caretta during their nesting season. Volunteers will participate in environmental conservation efforts, awareness-raising activities, and the day-to-day protection of nature.

Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental action, learn new skills, and engage in intercultural experiences while supporting biodiversity preservation.

When and Where

• Location: Demre, Antalya, Türkiye

• Volunteering Periods:

  • First group: 12 May – 11 July 2025

  • Second group: 14 July – 12 September 2025
    
    

Each volunteering period lasts approximately 2 months.

Main Activities

• Monitoring and protecting sea turtle nests

• Marking nesting areas and reporting observations

• Organizing environmental awareness workshops

• Beach cleaning activities

• Supporting the transfer of injured turtles

• Producing communication materials (photos, videos) for environmental campaigns
  
  

Accommodation and Support

• Volunteers will be accommodated in modern apartments (two volunteers per room), fully equipped with kitchen, Wi-Fi, and laundry facilities.

• Daily transportation to project areas will be organized.

• Each volunteer will receive food allowance and pocket money.

• Travel costs will be reimbursed according to ESC rules, with a preference for eco-friendly travel options.
  
  

Profile of Participants

• Aged between 18–30 years old

• Legally residing in an ESC program country (including Macedonia)

• Interested in environmental protection, sustainability, and outdoor activities

• Motivated, responsible, and willing to work in a team

• No prior experience is required
