We're looking for one volunteer for a ESC project in France.
Activity desription:
We are glad to welcome two European volunteers to lead socio-cultural activities in the village of Roqueredonde in the South of France.
The volunteer mission will be to set up a lively café in a countryside setting. This involves creating a cozy space where people can come together for artistic expression, music jams, community interaction, and the exchange of diverse cultures. Imagine building a welcoming hangout where locals and visitors can enjoy events, tasty treats, and chats in a countryside setting.
Accomomdaton, food and transport agreements:
Regain is located in the hamlet of La Borie Noble in the Languedoc region at an altitude of 650 meters in the south of France, 19 kms away from the village of Lodeve and 5 km from Roqueredonde. There are several buildings surrounded by a well-preserved environment composed of forests and mountain rivers. There’s also a traditional bakery producing bread and pizzas three times a week, a wood and masonry workshop,a fromagerie, a green garden and a wild and busy swimming pool in the months of summer! As a volunteer, you will share your daily life with members of the community and other volunteers and woofers.Accommodation will be in a private bedroom, with a shared bathroom and shower.You will have access to three meals a day and a common room for cooking and eating.There are plenty of recreational spaces. Transportation options include a bus that reaches the hamlet three times a week, and there's also a car available for use (provided you have a valid driver's license).
Training during the activity:
You'll be working around 35 hours a week with support from our team. Our main goal? Creating an awesome cultural café in the countryside. It'll be a spot where art, community vibes, and diverse cultures all mix together. Alongside running the café and organizing events, you'll discover community activities like baking, gardening, cheese-making, and helping out with various tasks. There are tons of learning opportunities in the project, from hosting photo exhibitions to workshops, language labs, and various craft workshops like wood sculpting and pottery. Plus, we'll have jam sessions, and dances from around the world every Saturday! And don't forget about our regular yoga and meditation sessions to learn how to make a positive impact.
Participant profile:
We are looking for volunteers who are team players, enjoy nature, and can organize events. We value flexibility, independence, and taking the initiative. It's important to like rural life and care about the environment, while also respecting community norms and non violence values.
While specific competencies aren't required,basic english competences and a willingness to explore new cultures are indispensable.This opportunity is open to individuals aged 18 to 30 from the European Union or partner countries. While possessing a driver's license is an advantage, what truly matters is your motivation.
